I have loved the flavor of Irish food since I first tasted it in Ireland in 1998. It has a flavor all it’s own, and the only comparison I can make is that it tastes like home cooking that grandma used to make. It is basically wholesome food with all natural ingredients.

I have experimented with some Irish products and used them in some of my favorite recipes. I have made entrees such as “Sweet Loaf”, which is a meat loaf made with Sharwood’s Mango Chutney. Sweet LoafI have mixed dressing for my “Potato and Egg Salad” with Lakeshore Foods Irish Pub Mustard with Beer. My “Tangy Tomato and Cheese Pizza” is a result of using Ballymaloe Country Relish instead of tomato sauce.

Using Chivers Jams in my “Irish Tea Cakes”, and Chivers Lemon Curd in my “Lemon Topped Mini Cheesecakes” and “Snow-Capped Lemon Fairy Cakes” made a wonderful difference in the flavor. I have added dried cranberries and orange peel to Odlums Quick Scone Mix for my “Cranberry Orange Scones”. Cranberry Orange SconesAnother sweet treat is adding honey and raisins to Odlums Brown Soda Bread Mix for my “Honey and Raisin Brown Bread”, which is great with coffee or tea.

My “Irish Cream Coffee Torte” using Bewley’s Irish Cream Coffee, makes a delicious cake for company or dessert, and my “Irish Whiskey Cake” recipe is great for the Holidays, whether for yourself or as a gift.

You may use the recipes I have included in this web site, and I hope you will enjoy them as much as I did creating them. Irish Whiskey CakeAs I try new products, I will continue to develop new recipes and I will be happy to share them with you. If you have any suggestions about other recipes or products to try, please feel free to contact me. Thank you for visiting LittleShamrocks.com and I hope you will return.

Slainte!
(Good Health!)
