February 2009 Newsletter
Dia Dhuit (Hello)

Brrrrrrr! January was very cold but now we are on the upswing to spring. Valentine's Day is almost upon us, so I have added five new recipes for you to prepare for your sweethearts. First, we have some Irish Coffee Muffins for you to enjoy with your breakfast. On the lighter side, there is a recipe for Irish Pub Salad. The next two could be served for either lunch or dinner: Popover Pudding with Irish Bacon (similar to the English dish 'Toad in a Hole') or individual servings of Beef and Guinness Pie. Lastly, I have prepared an Irish Cream Chocolate Mousse Cake. Have fun!

Speaking of recipes, I will be searching through my cookbooks during this month to find some new recipes for St. Patrick's Day. We will be adding quite a few more affiliates to our store and will include some choices of English and Scottish products as well. Please check out our online store for featured Valentine's Day products.

Gerry Bohan sent us the 2009 edition of the 'Leitrim Guardian' yearbook. It contains a wonderful article about his mother, and our dear friend, Teresa Bohan. It was a report on the graveside eulogy that was given, including a short biography and some memorable anecdotes. I contacted Myra Reynolds, Editor of the Leitrim Guardian, who has given her consent for LittleShamrocks.com to reprint the article on our site. We are also currently working on the possibility of selling the Leitrim Guardian on LittleShamrocks.com. I will keep you posted.

We received a lovely note from Maura Casey and family thanking us for the flowers and the tribute to Thomas in last month's newsletter. We also received a nice email from Mary Lydon of Co. Meath. She had a lot of news including the celebration of her father's 90th birthday at the Darnley Hotel in Athboy. They had a wonderful time and all of the children and grandchildren were in attendance. Mary told us that she and her family watched President Obama's inauguration ceremony and they couldn't get over the size of the crowd. It was mind boggling!

Well, that's all I have to report this month. I will look forward to writing the March newsletter including more new recipes. Until next time ... I hope you all have a Happy Valentine's Day!

Sláinte,
Tyna
